Lots of new blogs!!!

Hey, just wanted to let you all know the new blogs I have been posting are actually old blogs from Myspace. I am deleting my myspace and didn't want to lose all my blogs in the process, so browse them if you like, they are now all categorized, by year and then by what they are about, ex. life, family, TTC journey, ect...

I hope you enjoy reading them, for some this is all old news, for some it may be new to you and way to get to know me better. Enjoy! All original posting dates are in the blog.

Here is a little update for me.

December 11th is approaching fast and its the day that I am going in for laproscopy surgery to see if I have endometriosis. I have most of the symptoms of it, so this will confirm if it is in fact what I have. The only way to know for sure is to do this procedure where they go in through the belly button with a camera and fill the abdomen with air and look around. If they find it they will be able to burn it off at that time and then chances of concieving are much greater. Please pray that this will go well and pray for my doctor doing the procedure.

Also, I have been getting weekly massages on my shoulders for the past 4 or 5 weeks and I really think its helping. I have been able to fall asleep and stay asleep throughout the night, rather than waking up 100 times a night and then feeling tired in the morning. I wake up feeling rested and ready to get out of bed. I also was waking up before with a stiff back that was very sore. However after the first few massages I was waking up with absolutley NO back pain and it felt great!! The problem I was having on the right shoulder, has moved to the left, so I am hoping that means its on its way out! I thought I was crazy at first as its been in my right shoulder for almost 2 years and the exact same pain and symptoms have now gone to the left side... so weird!

That's about all for now!

Making progress...

Some of you know, some don't. We weren't really going to make this public knowledge so that is why this blog is going on the preferred readers list. We started testing for infertility. Yes it happened before so it can happen again, however it hasn't yet. Since we have been off all forms of birth control since May 2006 when Sergio left for Korea (going on 3 years now) and the one time we got pregnant it ended in miscarriage the doctor felt it was enough time to start the tests. Yes Sergio was gone for a year in Korea but since he has been back its been almost 2 years. It has already been almost 1 year since we found out we lost the baby and 9 months since given the OK to try to conceive again (TTC). Still nothing. I have tried charting, OPKs (ovulation prediction kits) and even Preseed (which acts like fertile cervical mucus), nothing has been working for us. I am textbook - 28 day cycles with a 14 positive on the OPKs. For a little while my cycles were slightly off 27-29 days but nothing major and the past 4 have been dead on. Some of this may be foreign to some who don't know the TTC lingo but bear with me and I will get to the point, haha. I am no newbie to the signs of ovulation or when to time intercourse - that is what I am trying to portray. So about the testing - I went in for blood work on December 18th and again on December 29th. Just today 2 of 5 results came back! The two that came back were Progesterone and Prolactin, both within the normal range of 10.5 so this is good news. Both are checked for infertility problems. If you want more detailed information look them up at webmd. Anyway, we are still waiting on LH, Thyroid and I can never remember the other one. Thursday we will also do the semen analysis. That shouldn't take too long to get results back since they do it in-office. If all that goes well, and I start another cycle this month I will go back between day 5-11 of my cycle and have the dye test done. This is where they inject dye into the cervix and up through the uterus and fallopian tubes. This will show if there is any blockage. If this comes back normal as well, the doctor will start me on Clomid. Its a pill that causes ovulation. We already know I ovulate so this means that my chances of twins are greater, they say less than 4% of twins and less than 1% of triplets or more. However I believe this is the reason we have so many twins on base. But its something that I am willing to do to have a baby. So I will update you all when we get more results. But this is what has been going on with us. We are just so ready to start the next chapter in our life and we pray that it is God's will to give us children. I also believe that He expects us to pursue it so that is what the testing is for. Its not in any means to try and rush God but He has given doctors the knowledge to find all this out and I believe He doesn't expect us to sit back when there is a problem that can be fixed with simple means. So pray for us on our TTC journey!

Updates on the boys

Ok, so once again its been a long time since I have wrote an update. I wonder how many posts I have started off like this? Hmmm... anyway, that doesn't matter, what does is this...

I will start with my nephews. Some of you know the whole story and some of you don't. If you want the whole story email me or message me on facebook and we will get together one day and talk about it. Anyway, it is not looking good for their parents at all! They are back in jail and have been for a few weeks and will be for at least 2 months. Which means in the meantime they aren't showing up for visits and they aren't participating in their programs... which they didn't do much of when they weren't in jail either. So, it looks like July holds a lot of hope for the kids.

I truely believe that God's timing is perfect! When I had these kids in 2006 and they went home in 2007 it totally broke our hearts. Its never good to question God but we thought "Why God? Why did you take them out of that terrible situation only to put them back again?" Well, I know why He took them out in the first place. That year SAVED Caiden's life! I think back to the angry little boy who couldn't talk and the only emotion he knew was anger and then I think back to the day he went back and he was a happy, loved boy full of potential and I see him today and he is still the same sweet, loving kid he was the day he left us.

Now, here we are in the same situation again with these kids. My mom has Joshua, the oldest and my sister has Seth and Caiden the next two. The foster mom who had Leland last time has him again with his sister Jordan. This time I know it has to be for good. I prayed every night "Lord, I love these kids so much and the only hope for them is to get out of that situation. It breaks my heart to think of the life they will lead if they continue on this way. I know you love them more than I do and, Lord, I know you will protect them as you have promised." I think to that verse Matthew 18:16 "But whosoever shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea." The oldest one, Joshua got saved when we had him the first time. He used to always ask me questions and all the time in the car we would be driving around and I would say "Josh, who made the sky?" He said "God did" "Well then, who made the birds?" he answered again "God did" and we would go on and on and finally I would say "Well how could He do all that?" He would say "Because Aunt Rachel, He is God". It used to make me smile and I was so proud of him. So one day he was really asking me about getting to heaven and so I asked him "do you want to talk to grandpa about it?" Knowing my grandpa would have just the right words to help him understand. And he said "yeah!" So we walked upstairs and I told my grandpa he wanted to talk to him about getting saved and my grandma and I stood in the kitchen, listening, and crying as grandpa put it in the simplest terms and him and Joshua prayed. He came running out of that room with a huge smile on his face and said "Aunt Rachel, I asked Jesus to save me!" I hugged him and told him how proud of him I was and that I was his age when I got saved too. He was due to have a visit with his parents the next day and he told me "I am going to tell my mommy and daddy at the visit" I said "Good for you." He said "but mommy doesn't believe in God" I said "thats ok, you can tell her anyway, but don't get upset if she tries to tell you God isn't real" he said "I will call her a LIAR! God is real!!" I thought of that verse, But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. God protects His little ones.

Pictures of Tyler.

I just wanted to share some pictures of Tyler that were taken when I went back to the states to visit him!

Above: Love this one.

Above: But this is my favorite! I blew it up to 8 by 10 and put it in Sepia color.

He looks so good in yellow!

Love his baby hands. I also blew this up and put it in sepia.

Love his little feet too, Blew this one up in Sepia as well.

Holding baby Tyler! I love him so much!

Above: This one Amanda sent recently, look at those chubby cheeks!!
I really miss him so much!!

Been a while

Well, sorry its been so long since the last blog. But here goes...
I got a new job! I work at the theater on base for a few hours a week. I really like it, it keeps me busy and gives a little extra cash in the bank. And you all should know me by now, and know that I like to shop... so I thought why not? I am still selling Partylite and Discovery Toys but its kinda hit a dead end again, so if it picks back up or someone wants to have a party I will but not really pushing it.

Skye got spade last week, Tuesday. She was out of it for about 2 days, didn't even get up to come in the kitchen and beg for food... didn't even greet me at the door or talk to me like she normally would when I come home. But the look on her face was that she was in pain and even though she showed me she was happy to see me by wagging her tail when I spoke to her. She is now back to herself. Her scar looks great, no redness, no swelling, almost back to normal. I have to call the vet and see if he takes the stitches out or if they dissolve.
Oh yeah, I went in for the ultrasound to make sure there were no cysts on my ovaries and all is good! Clomid, the fertility medicine I am on can cause them so the doctor wanted to make sure everything looked good!

I don't know that we have anything else to add for now. So I will try to add some pictures.

Above: was taken while out walking with Skye in a park in Aviano. We had a good time. I will add more of those pictures later.

Above: One of my pretty flowers, not sure what its actually called but I love the colors!
Above: My hanging geraniums which actually are a lot more bloomed now. I will take more pictures and post them soon!

Cakes I have made.

I got into cake decorating in 2003 when working at Selfridge ANG where I worked in the deli and bakery. I took a cake decorating class paid for by my job. It was so much fun. I wish I had taken pictures of all the cakes that I made while working there but I didn't think of it back then. Here are some cakes that I have made though that I did take pictures of. Just thought I would share!

Tyler Joseph came into the world screaming!

Well most of you know by now that Amanda had to have an emergency c-section. The protein in her urine was over 12,000 and normal level is 300 or less. If you don't know the seriousness of that, it can cause the liver and kidneys to shut down. She had preeclampsia. Tyler was born April 7th at 3:46pm and weighing 3.3lbs and 15.5inches long. They told Amanda to be prepared, it would be quiet when they took him out - it wasn't. She said he screamed more than once! That was great news - meaning that the steriods they were giving to develop his lungs were working! He then got Jaundice but that has cleared up. He is not on the oxygen mask anymore but on regular oxygen where the little tubes go in your nostrils. He also is eating more now too! He will beef up in no time.

Looks like he is getting a tan! haha. He did that on his own.

Look how little his hand is.

I haven't met him yet but I am already total in love with him and can't wait to hold him!!

In the next few days...

This is the cycle that I will be starting Clomid. I will be starting it in just a few days. On the 5th day of my cycle I start by taking one pill a day for I think 5 days, I don't remember how many pills are there. Then towards the end of my cycle I will go in and get blood work done to make sure that amount he put me on is the correct amount.

If it works the first month and I get pregnant I won't be posting about it for a while, so please don't ask. This will be the last post about any of it for a while. I can be on Clomid for 6 months, if it doesn't happen in 6 months it shows that it most likely won't happen. But if it does, I probably won't be posting about any of it for a long time anyway.

Well thats all for now!

Puppies!!

Puppies!!!
Hey everyone, Just wanted to let you know that after 2 days of labor and no sleep for us. Skye gave birth on Sunday March 15th to 5 beautiful babies! 2 boys and 3 girls. 4 of them look JUST like her. The other little boy was all black like his older sister Kaci. He was the runt.

Skye was delivering for about 6 hours, a little over an hour a pup. The little runt wasn't nursing. His little mouth was too small for mommy's nipples. Also his umbilical cord fell all the way off. So he was bleeding from there and lost a good amount of blood for being so little. I called the vet but he was out of town for a few hours - he called when he got back at 9pm (baby was born at about 3pm) I took him in and he looked at his belly and said "thats not good" What I thought was a blood clot where his belly button should be was in fact facets of the inside skin coming out. It looked like intestines but the vet said it wasn't. He had to put a stitch in his little belly. We then fed him through a tube that we had to feed down his throat, it was really easy to do. The vet said to do this every 2-3 hours. So we took him home and fed him at 11:15pm, I set my alarm to feed him again at 1:30am, then again at 4am. When we got in the room, he was already gone. It must have just happened within about 20 mins because he wasn't very cold yet. Skye was licking him like she was trying to wake him, she continued to clean him. So we let her lick him a little more and then removed him, put him a shoebox and then went back to bed - so much for sleeping though, I couldn't after that.

We went to our appt at 9am and then when we got back we took him to the vets to dispose of the body. The vet said "he was really small, its sad but that happens sometimes, there could have been something more seriously wrong with him that made him so small, you just never know." What I am thinking is that his umbilical cord fell off so easily (skye had a hard time chewing off his sisters and brothers) that maybe there was a problem with it that caused it to not get enough food as the rest - making it smaller, and if that is what happened, what else was wrong with him? We will never know. But Skye is not herself right now, and so I would like to ask that everyone wait to come and visit her and the puppies until she has adjusted to him being gone. She doesn't even want us touching her babies at this point. She even growled at Emily for just petting her. So I think its best that she be left alone with them until she is over his loss. I don't think she knows he died, because he was still moveable when she had him. She looks at us like "when are you bringing my baby back" everytime we walk in the room. She is always staring out in the hall like she is looking for him. She no doubt knows she is missing a baby and I don't want her to be anymore insecure or become depressed - Yes, dogs can become depressed. Thank you. (This is a little older blog - but the update is that Skye is doing much better now with the babies and people holding them. She even allowed kids to visit with the puppies today!)

Sergio's surgery

Well he had his surgery on Friday, Feb. 27th. We went in at 8:15am and they took him back about 10am. They had a hard time getting the block in his leg, each time they would poke the muscle to find the nerve it would push the needle back out.

I wasn't happy with the woman who was doing it as she was really rude to me, I even thought about filing a complaint!

But back to the surgery, it went very well. It was more damaged on the inside than the doctor originally thought. His ACL was tore completley and had been for quite some time. His meniscus was also tore in two different places in two different directions. So the doctor said that his chances of arthritis are higher, like anyone who has invasive surgery like that. The MRI showed he had the start of it already and it runs in his family.

So the doctor scraped off the flap of meniscus that was loose there and cleaned up the other area. Then he took one of the three hamstring muscles and used it to make an ACL. He is on crutches now and will be until they tell him more in physical therapy which is tomorrow. He is tolerating the pain well. He is doing really well with the resting part. However we are only on day 2! Keep praying for his sanity while he isn't able to go to the gym. He also won't be able to run for 3 months and he is pretty upset about that.

I will update more later when there is new news!

More Colonix news!

WOW! That is what I have to say. The last 3 days I have been having major movements! Very impressive. Its definatley cleaning and doing its job. I won't get too detailed here but it works!! Just like it says its supposed to. I am feeling better. The last three days I have had 3 bowel movements before noon and then my stomach is SO much flatter for the rest of the day. Until the end of the day. Which makes me think that maybe I have a problem with some ingredients in some foods that causes bloating. You know when people have an allergy to wheat gluten they get bloating? I am wondering if that is my problem.

I am going to be getting that flat belly back in time for summer!

Colonix Program (may contain graphic content)

Alright well I was waiting until I got some more activity to post a blog about it. I am on day 6 of the Colonix program by Dr. Natura. I will try and make this as clean as possible but honestly what the program causes to come out is not clean by any means!

Its a colon cleanse. I heard about it from a friend who has a friend on the program. So she showed me the website and I was hooked. The pictures are horrific but then I thought - that is inside me? It must be, I am a junk food junkie! Fast food was almost my every meal in the states and I am a pop (soda for those of you in the south!) addict. Pepsi and Dr. Pepper are my weakness. So after reading literally dozens of testimonials and relatin with many I thought, why not? So I showed Sergio and being the health nut he is he said "don't get off that couch until you order that stuff" So I ordered two months worth.

I have tried many fiber mixes - metamucil, benefiber, colon cleanse and they all have the same thing in common. They are NASTY! I end up quitting and can't finish because it makes me gag. Well that isn't the case with Colonix, the fiber is very easy to handle in juice. It goes down smooth, no its not the best tasting but really with juice you just get the texture of it. I can handle that!

Without getting too personal... I have had many bowel problems, pains, cramps, NOISE, gas, and bloating. I have always been a constipated person. Going once every other day was normal for me. Apparently that isn't healthy! You are supposed to have a BM for each meal you eat. If you dont... where do you think the food is going? I never thought of this before. Reading the testimonials you will be hooked like I was and still am.

I have lost 1 pound in 5 days! I imagine I have at least the average which is 5 pounds of crap blocked up in your colon. It causes your stomach to flatten out (that little pouch you can't seem to crunch or diet off) because your colon is bloating you and pushing your stomach out... think about it!

Yes, looking at it you may think its a big pricey, like I did. But how much would you pay for a healthier life? After you have a BM (bowel movement) you get energy... a backed up colon causes lots of problems, sleepless nights, tired during the day, and the list goes on... Think of it like I did. It will cost you $13.75 a week - that is probably less than what you spend on fast food in one week right? The very stuff that causes you to be backed up and feeling crappy in the first place! Once you are done with this program you won't have the cravings for that food anymore. So in reality you will be saving money in the end by not eating that food. You will eat healthier once you see what is coming out, because you won't want to get that backed up again. I am not hungry all day long like I used to be.

The best part is how easy it comes out, how there is no mess - on you that is. You don't have to run to the bathroom when you feel the urge to go, you can hold it if you need to. After you feel like its actually all out and you are satisfied. I can't wait to feel completley empty!

Remember me saying that Pepsi and Dr. Pepper was my downfall? I don't want it anymore. I swore I would NEVER give it up no matter what. Really when I drink it now it upsets my stomach and so I dont want it! Scared to give up your coffee? You will feel better without it, the boost that BMs gives you will be plenty enough energy for the day! I promise!! And you will have so much extra energy to burn off during the day you will find yourself doing more physical activies and you will end up losing a lot of weight because of it! The healthy way!

http://www.drnatura.com/
make sure you check out the photo gallery and the testimonials! I will keep updating.
By the way, I had 6 BMs today. Most were small but still, I feel a lot better!

Finally, a sigh of relief!

Today, February 11th 2009, marks exactly one year since we found out we had a miscarriage. It's kinda ironic that it also happened to be the day that I went in for the HSG (dye test). I didn't make the correlation until I was on the phone with my aunt and she said "I haven't forgotten about your appointment on the 11th. I am praying for you." Then she mentioned something about my grandparents anniversary, which I had always known was Feb. 11th but it wasn't until then that it hit me that the 11th was here and we were actually in the month of Feb. It was sad news I had to deliver on their anniversary.

Anyway, here we are one year later and we have finally finished the tests that all show we are both fertile and should have no trouble conceiving on our own. I went through a series of blood work, Sergio did the semen analysis and then the dye test which showed there was no blockage and no funny shape to my uterus that might cause a problem.

So I can finally breathe a sigh of relief. Sergio stated his confidence saying "I knew there was nothing wrong." But I could tell before each result came back he was nervous and anxious to know the answers. The doctor did give me 50mg of Clomid to start in March. Then I have to go in to get some blood work done towards the end of my cycle to tell if the medicine is working properly or if I need to be on a higher dose. He said that we may get pregnant on our own without the meds this month because some women actually do within months of the dye test because it can "clean or rinse" out the tubes. We will see.

Either way, please try and hold the monthly "well are you?" questions. We still plan on waiting to make any news of that sort public until after we had a first ultrasound. Well I will blog some more later on. Thanks for all the prayers, they have been answered so far!

Just a little update.

Well I just wanted to update you all and especially those of you who have been praying regularly for us...

I went in for a series of blood work in December and got all the results back. They show that I am not a carrier for Cystic Fibrosis which is good since I am not a carrier of it there is no chance that we will have children born with that. It also showed that I infact ovulate each month. And that my thyroid is still on track.

Some of you may know I was diagnoses with Hypothyroid when I was 17. I was on medication for it until I was about 20-21 when I misplaced my pills and had been off them for a week. I felt fine so I went in to the doctor again and he said that it was normal. Apparently it fixed itself. It was never very severe anyway, I was on the lowest dose. But I go in every 6 months to a year to have it checked out just to be sure.

The doctor tested other things as well, like my cholestrol and that all came back normal as well.

Sergio had to get his test done and that all came back well. He has plenty of little swimmers! 148 million!! The other results of that test came back good as well. It did show however they are a little on the slower side for swimmer forward but the Doctor said not to be worried since there are so many.

So next test is the dye test which will be scheduled for sometime next month. We will update you when we have more information!

New Year 2009

For New Years we hung out with a couple friends. We went over to Kathy's with Danielle and her husband Michael. Kari, Corey, Karleigh, Poppe and Jen were there. We stayed for a little bit and then decided at 11pm to head down to the Pordenone square to bring in the New Year. There were sooo many people, it was so packed! They had a stage with all sorts of lights and someone up there singing. They sang one song in English and the rest in Italian, so we decided to go walking around to check out the area. We got back and in a place just as they started counting down. They were counting down from 30 in Italian. Its a good thing I know my numbers! So we were counting down in English as soon as they hit 10. We stuck around for a little while after that to listen to the music, a few more songs in English now - like Grease Lightning! When we were ready to leave there were soo many people we were wondering how to push through the crowd, then we seen everyone was grabbing onto someone and starting a train, so we jumped on and thought maybe it would get us closer to the exit - it did for a minute, then took us deeper in, lol. s So we rode it out until we were closer and then broke off and walked out. It was pretty fun. It was lightly snowing before midnight and then after midnight the snow started coming down heavier and heavier. So we had our White Christmas and White New Year! We got more snow here than we have even got since I have been here. It actually stuck this time! Here are some pictures below.
